I actually quite enjoyed this book by the end, although I thought the writing was a tiny bit juvenile. I do plan to read the next book, so I'm hoping that bar gets raised just a tad.
There is a love triangle in this one that plays a significant role in the story, so if that's a trope that annoys you, obviously you should steer clear. It's not something that bothers me. I liked the personal growth the three characters experienced through their interactions with each other.

Just about to start it. Well, after The Salt Line. :) I'm prepared to be interested!

This is very lightweight...but it wasn't a strenuous read and I'm willing to do another book to see if it improves where I see potential.
Also very good and a standalone is The Loneliest Girl in the Universe by Lauren James...that is a book best read knowing as little about it as possible beforehand.
Thanks for the advice Justine! Perhaps I’ll add The Loneliest Girl without reading the blurb.
