it was amazing

Her greatest story, about childhood bullying amid seemingly innocent play and the dire consequences, also has wonderful things to say about siblings, a brother and a sister's relationship, and marriage.

Paula K Sounds awesome! Terrific review, Beverly!

message 9: by Carla Remy (new)

Carla Remy I haven't read this since my early teens, but I loved it and read it twice. I have read other stuff by Atwood but I never loved anything as much as this. I loved how the main character becomes a painter and the paintings are described. I should revisit it as an adult.

Yes, that's a favorite part for me too Carla, I started out studying art, so this part was very special for me too.

David Your great review makes me want to try reading her again.

Beverly Thanks David! This is my favorite by her. It is partly autobiographical and that is why it's such a guy wrenching story. It seems so raw and true.

Beverly Not guy wrenching, gut wrenching!
