2.5 stars
I liked the premise of this book. I’m a sucker for sweet romantic stories with a single mother and cute kid.
But I also need some substance and depth.
I picked up some new posh lines, so my reviews were more refined.
So, watch me!
I missed character development and their connection.
The story was too predictable and lacked depth.
Well, back to Alex’s style.
I didn’t dislike MCs, but they were shallow. Sorry, but not sorry.
It took me 5 days to finish this book. I read 4 others in between. It definitely shows my level of emotional involvement *snoring sound*
The h was meant to be sweet and innocent and they accomplished to polish her image by bashing all OWs the male protagonist bedded in the past.
Coz they were bimbos.
Bimbos!
Hello, slut-shaming! Long time no see
But he was a great man, coz despite he slept with bimbos, he remained a great guy and the women were sl*ts.
Hello, double standards! Long time no see
Blah blah blah
The book was safe. The former hockey player aka playboy (think about bimbos!) turned out to be a great guy and an excellent kindergarten teacher!!!
A couple of TSTL moments, some sweet times, sugar powder up my a** -
and the story was perfect!

P.S. As not a native speaker I tripped over some lines. But it’s definitely my bad English ;-)
“The way she said it, it almost seemed like a new development, but how could a woman like Mandy not be on birth control?
And really, how???

I wasn't aware this author writes also dark. I tried her "light" book (the previous one) and successfully DNFed it.
This one was most probably my last read by this author.

Thanks, Ira! I guess it was a brand new book? Not sure.
I'm going back to Eve now :-))))

Thank you, love! It wasn't an unique plot. Unfortunately. And if not for slut-shaming (which as you know I love *ugh*), I would have clicked 3.
xoxo

Thank you, Elle! I hope you'll find a good read 😉

Thank you, Alex! <3

Well, it seems like a case of same old. The guy is only a manwhore 'cause of bimbos who won't leave him alone. Lol
Great review

Great review"
Thank you, Rejane.
I don't support slut-shaming, especially when they praise h's innocence and purity through it. He was an active participant, but since he is a man it's ok, and all these OWs are bimbos. Yeah, classy... :-(((

Sorry it wasn't good. I can see what you mean... XX <3

Thanks, Katerina!
Unfortunately the casual misogyny is very popular in books. I would think twice about giving such a man a chance in RL. No, not twice and not once... I wouldn't give him any chance 😩
