I think I might like this book just because Rowaelin isn't in it!!! ☺️ I didn't even finish EoS!!

Am I right in thinking that the smut is toned down/removed in this book? Cause the UK edition still says mature content....I'm not going to buy it until I'm sure ☺️

Yes, I read in one review here that there are almost no steamy scenes, just one page? (Brittney ~ Her Bookish Things wrote that.)
You don't like the sex scenes? You're not alone, haha. I don't care for most of them, especially not for the ones between Aelin and Rowan (rolling my eyes so hard), but just like you I loved ACOMAF and found it sooo sexy tbh (biggest Rhys crush ever!). But ACOWAR left m ecold again. I think it was just the insane sexual tension they had. As soon as they're an item, the tension is gone... :)

Yeah I'm not a fan of smut, and it's the way SJM writes them, "velvet-wrapped steel" being my favourite eye-roll of EoS 😂 also the language used by Roman about Aelin e.g. "Claim" and "taste" 🙄🙄🙄 uh oh I'm nervous about giving ACOWAR another go now😂 oh yeah I loved ACOMAF too!! But not for the smut, for everything else. I feel like she writes relationships better when they're not full of unnecessary sex. Like Chaolaena in the second book. No territorial/abusive relationships there! 😂

Yes, I agree! I'm also a Dorian kind of person, and was happy he found someone after being treated that badly. And then he's just treated worse, poor Dorian! (he also has the best name of the bunch)
Ohh, you're so right, SJM's relationship to gender roles is disturbed. Her views on masculinity and maleness are sooooo annoying and Stone Age.

Ugh she's just writing what she wants to read, alpha male possessive jerks and zero diversity apart from one "bi" character. Give us evidence then plz. Yes disturbed is right!!! But also she can do it right like with Feysand, so I'm confused as to what her stance is. Possessive/abusive or healthy!!
