i got to the bottom of this and figured it out pretty easily early on, but that didnt detract from the story in the slightest. initially, i was worried this was going to be too much like the breakfast club meets murder she wrote but, other than the student stereotypes, this wasnt like that at all and i was so glad.
i loved how entertaining this was. i appreciated the little twists and turns, here and there, that kept me on my toes whilst i was so focused on the big end reveal. i also thought this was especially impressive for a debut - stories like this are pretty common, so it quite ambitious to try to make it your own, but i thought mcmanus nailed this. it had great pacing, solid writing, an engaging plot, and interesting characters. and i also now have a new book boyfriend in the form of nate, so thats always a bonus!
i cant wait to see what kind of books mcmanus writes next! hopefully its more of this, please and thank you!

Totally agree with your rewiew Jessica! I anticipated the twist in the first third of the book (too many Sherlock rewatch nights, I guess), but the book was entertaining anyway!

lol!!! Ah man, I didn't like this one. Couldn't connect to the characters, but that was quite a twist.
yeahhh. i totally get that. nate was really the only character i liked. but i can see how others could think the character development was a bit lacking. sorry this was a miss for you!! :(

FAVORITE BOOK EVER! So in love with the amazing story and the incredibly lovable characters🧡 I honestly just finished it but I know that it is my favorite book. Also because I’m into romantic cute stuff AND a deep story with a moral I give many props for combining those!! P.S. BRONWYN AND NATE ARE OFFICIALLY MY OTP! Sorry I just couldn’t help myself! I love their chemistry and how even though nothing was easy, they made it through and still had each other.😍
p.P.S. For anyone who doesn’t have the B&N exclusive edition I’d whole heartedly suggest finding it somewhere and reading that little extra chapter.☺️
