it was amazing

Woooooooow. O_O

This is still one of the best mysteries I've read. The suspense is incredible, and I felt my heart pounding during the climax even though I've already read this once in the past.

The BEST Sherlock Holmes story that I've encountered yet - perfect for reading on a blustery autumn day!

Katie Hanna Yes!!!! It's such a good introduction because it's spooky as heck and it's got such memorable characters--not just Holmes and Watson, but the lady and her father, too. *shivers with delight*

THE SNAKE

I will never, ever forget the snake

(it helps that my copy way back when was illustrated with these super creepy black-and-white drawings, and there was a picture at the end of the dude with the snake coiled around his head, and I just . . . #aesthetic)
