Penny This is such an odd book with so much going on in it. That said, I did give it three stars. I'm excited to know what you think of it.

AH Not sure when I'll get to it - Neal Stephenson's books always take me a long time to get through. It did look interesting. Did you write a review on it?

Penny I wanted to write a review--should have, in fact--but since it was the first book I'd ever read by NS I was a bit overwhelmed. There is so much that goes on in this book that I don't think I could begin to review anything other then the main storyline, about the girl and her illustrated primer. Everything else, while totally related to the main storyline in one way or another, was also very brilliant but it was almost too much to take in. I was constantly pausing the audiobook to mull some things over, sometimes replaying entire chapters because I wasn't focusing enough the first time through. I've been thinking of listening to the audiobook again, to see if I will appreciate it more the second time through.

AH His books are like that. I loved Cryptonomicon - that book was huge and well done. I then read his Baroque Cycle books which were huge as well. Very interesting. I want to try more of his other books.
