This book is marketed strangely. From the description, I thought it would be more of an academic thriller with supernatural elements. (I like books about books!) It's not, at all--it's a paranormal romance novel. I wouldn't have picked it up if I had known this (it's not my favorite genre), but I ultimately liked it. Despite some flaws (a lot of cliched elements, a heroine that needs frequent rescuing, and being overly long), I ended up being interested in the plot and caring about the characters.

Megan M I've been waiting on this book from the library for a while, based entirely on the thought that it was a sort of bookish mystery. :/

Sheila It has elements of that, for sure--especially the first part. I think whether you like it or not will depend on your tolerance for brooding, protective vampires.
