I liked this book. Didn't love it though. It was hard for me to like any of the characters (with the exception of most of the parents). I don't want to give away any secrets but I will say that in my opinion Celestial seems entitled, Roy does too but in a completely different sense (almost the opposite of Celestial's entitlement if that makes sense to anyone who's read it) and Andre lacks some morals. Again, this is just my take on all of them. These characters though are very "real" and the book doesn't sugar coat issues. Again, I enjoyed this but won't be chomping at the bit to recommend to anyone.

Same here, Melanie. There were some things I liked about the book and some I didn't, so it was a middle-of-the-road read for me too.
Nice write up Melanie ....... I think I enjoyed it a little more than you but I agree with most of what you say.
