There are many GREAT things I want to say about this book. The book is full of strong characters and meaningful themes. I was blessed to buddy read this book. It is a fabulous book to discuss with a friend or in a book club.
It is told from the viewpoint of six of the characters. Each character who speaks seems to be a reliable narrator. Each seems to understand their own persona well. As a result, the reader gets to know the characters intimately.
The story line is strong too. Jordan listened to stories told by her grandmother when Jordan was a child. Many elements of this novel come from those stories.
The book has won many awards and a movie was made based on it in 2017.
I have read/listened to the book two times!. The listening experience was top notch.

Your review makes me want to read this book. I did see the movie. Excellent, and I believe you can still stream through Netflix.
