did not like it

take a shot every time lisa mentions vaginas and you’ll be in the hospital before you make it past the introduction. serves me right for trying to get back into witch stuff and forgetting that it’s absolutely swimming with terfs. truly, from the bottom of my heart: yikes.

Annabel_Hawkins Try reading into some secular books. The Wiccan community lists more towards 'biologically female' crap (but not all of them, there are some good ones out there), but books that are solely on the craft itself lack much of the binary gender rhetoric.

yes i've noticed secular witches are much better about it! really digging the green witch community right now for that reason. still some gendering in their examples but they make it clear that it's not a rigid system and can be molded to your needs.

i'm gonna be hooting and hollering about that "she sits pussy to the earth" line all year though. thanks for that gem lisa.

Allison Sylviadotter I don't understand, what is wrong with vaginas exactly? Everyone came from a vagina.... So why is it so bad to talk about?

message 4: by Inge (new)

Inge @Allison There’s nothing wrong with a vagina. But not every woman was born with one. Not every woman loves hers. Not every woman wants one. Not every woman menstruates, but non-binary folx and men can menstruate as well. Basically, if you center a book around the vagina, the womb and menstruation, you’re leaving out a whole bunch of people (women with reproductive problems, post menopause, non binary folx, and transgenders) who are interested in witchcraft and feel they are a witch. That is the issue with this book.

Max inge took all the words out of my mouth so there you go. it's fine to talk about vaginas. obsessing over them, putting them front and center as the one true sacred genital, and demonstrating a total lack of awareness (or carelessness/distaste) toward those whose gender doesn't "match" their given parts or whose parts don't work at all? we won't have it in this wretched-enough year 2020.

Gabriela Such a stupid review. This book is about how women were treated in the past and witchery, it'ss not about trans people and their struggles. Not everything in life revolves around trans people. Biological women deserve to have their own books that talk about them and their stories, pasts and struggles or any type of topic. If you can't relate to the book because you identify with something else, just ignore it and don't read it. Y'all love to throw the word transphobic like confetti and boycott the works and creations of biological women. Very misogynistic on your part. Fake azz feminist.

Kim Why are woman annoyed with talk of vaginas? Stop being ashamed of words. Do you think men cringe when the word penis is used?

Perrie Why is talking about vaginas such a terrible crime to you? Do you, perhaps, just hate women?
