I might revisit this at a later date, as so many of you have told me how great this is! I just wasn't drawn in enough for the first 10% and lost interest in listening to it, so I'll take a break for now and consider picking it back up again.

The start seemed a little slow for me too, and I found Eleanor's character hard to read about at first but stick with it! It gets more interesting as you read through!

I couldn't get past page 50 the first time. A year later when I tried again, and it is in my top 3 reads for 2018
I think it's a good book, but tbh I still didn't like it. Personal preference.
if literary fiction isn't your thinh then i don't this book has much of a story .... and the main charecter too rude, clueless and annoying for my tastes.

Yeah I agree with what everyone else is saying. The first half I read and put it down for a few weeks but when I picked it back up again I found I really enjoyed the book as a whole. One of those 鈥渟tay with it till the end鈥� novels. She has a very unique voice this writer. In the beginning Elenor is quite an annoying character, quite condescending (to me anyway). However in the second half those quirks become endearing馃槍 Sometimes the over hype with novels like this, I find, can set expectations too high and ends up giving you a different view. Ugh I鈥檓 really disliking it so far. I want to quit but it鈥檚 for book club.
The pace is quite slow at the beginning but it does get a lot better when more gets unravel!
I found that the first half was kind of dragging and I was confused about what I was even reading. Eleanor鈥檚 character was getting on my nerves. But about 50% in it started to get much better.
Oh wow! I was sucked in immediately. I guess everyone has different tastes though. That鈥檚 fine!
I let it sit for a couple of weeks and am trying again now, because I don't want to enter 2020 with this still as an "unfinished book" Let's hope it gets better
