Animal Farm

The power struggles in the Soviet Union that are partial inspiration for the satire of this book may be unknown by many nowadays. However, the real message is a much broader look at equality, (human) rights and the tendency of power to corrupt - all very valid today.
The plot is too well known to need summarising: animals take over the farm from a nasty owner, but the pigs who are in charge become increasingly tyrannical and like the master they replaced. Some of the animals want to rebel, others keep the vision and sacrifice all for it.

Thank you for the review!"
LOL. And thank you for the comment.

Great review, Cecily. Following Orwell's lead, you've sneaked in a thinly-veiled message of your own! ; )

Thanks. If only I could be so succinct nowadays.

Thank you for the review!
