madeline miller’s writing is so lush and gorgeous, and reading her words feels like travelling to another dimension where everything in your life is a distant memory, much like a dream, while the tales she weaves feel distinctly like reality crushing upon you in all-consuming waves.

for christmas, i’m wishing upon all the stars to grant me her writing skills, and to possess merely an iota of the magic she imbues her words with.
