"اعتقد ان امرأة تتبع غريزتها بحرية وشغف، اشرف من تلك التي اختارت -كما جرت العادة- ان تخون زوجها عبر اغماض عينيها وهي بين احضانه"... على هذه الفكرة تتكأ فلسفة هذه الرواية وترتكز وكل ما تبقى هو سرد متوقع، رغم عظمة الوصف الا انه لا يخلو من الملل احياناً..

- الشغف والشغف ثم الشغف هو ثيمة هذه الرواية، فكل شيئ يبرره الشغف....

- الموازنة بين الحب والقمار كأنهما لعبة واحدة قد تربح فيها وقد تخسر كل شيئ كان ممتازاً.. اوليست الحياة مقامرة بذلك المعنى ايضاً!


- مفهوم " الإعتراف" او "الفضفضة" بالعامية كان له اثره هنا ايضاً فقد ابرز زفايج قيمة مشاركة الآخر بما يثقل كاهلنا مما يريح الشخص من دون وجود حاجة او خدمة مفترضة من الآخر سوى الإستماع.

- رواية جميلة اخرى للمبدع زفايج انصح بها الجميع.

- On this idea, this novel is grounded, and all that remains is an expected narration, despite the greatness of the description, but it is sometimes not without boredom.

- Passion is the theme of this novel. Everything is justified by passion...

- Balancing between love and gambling as if they were one game in which you might win and lose everything was excellent. Isn't life itself is a gamble in that sense too?

- The concept of “confession�� also had its effect here. The value of sharing the pain with others, which relieves the person without the existence of a need or a supposed service from the other except listening.

- Another beautiful novel by Zweig, recommended to everyone.
