This book waltzed into my life all suave and charming and sucker-punched any worries I had over my extremely high expectations right in the face.
I felt like a small child reading a fairy tale for the first time. If I had to describe this in one word, it would be: magcial.
“He does not mean that it does not hurt. He does not mean that we are not frightened. Only that: we are here. This is what it means to swim in the tide, to walk the earth and feel it touch your feet. This is what it means to be alive

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, Madeline Miller is the real witch.
Weaving her story so cleverly, casting her wordy magic. Circe who?
This was like bathing in sunlight; relaxing and warm and wonderful. It was like honey, sweet and oozing with gorgeous visuals and sentiments.
You know when you can read a book and sink into it completely as everything else falls away? This is Circe. It had such an enchanting atmosphere. If I ever manage to write something half as good as Madeline Miller, I can die happy.

“But in a solitary life, there are rare moments when another soul dips near yours, as stars once a year brush the earth. Such a constellation was he to me.

So why not five stars? Merely some of it didn't capture me in the same way, and it wasn't so hard to put down at points, but it was so minor.

I had high hopes going into this, and it met them and continued giving.
It makes me want to braid my hair whilst nibbling bread and olives; feel the grass beneath my bare feet and the soil between my fingers as I plant my herbs.
If I stop being active on here, it's probably because I've gone to live out the rest of my days on my own island.

Would I recommend? WoUlD i rEcOMmEnD?
Go, find a copy, treat yo self n all that.

“I thought once that gods are the opposite of death, but I see now they are more dead than anything, for they are unchanging, and can hold nothing in their hands.

hahahahahahahaha I paused to underline something & then turned the page feeling the deceptively thick wad of pages “left excited to see how it ended, then saw “Acknowledgements.
WHY do books have so many of those blank pages at the end??? is it just to trick you into believing there’s more remaining than there is?? legit the smile dropped right off my face thAT WAS THE END
