The one that has a preface by Jane Smiley? At 800 plus pages, I expect that I'll enjoy reading your review before I read it. But, it sounds great. I got the ebook so the dust mites can't take it away from me.

It is by Alexander Craigie, 148 pages, does not mention any preface.

If you can give me an ISBN of that edition I will check it. the one with 148 pages can only be abridged. The offer on 'Bookdeposits' is extremely large and confusing.

Thanks for your review Lori, "The Long Ships" is one of my favorites.With Vikings you would expect to see piracy and violence, but here there is also love, compassion, humor and religious tolerance.
