Just finished it last night, Elyse. An enjoyable read...but Booker nominee? Some humorous part though...

The farm to dinner was terrific. A very relaxing evening. No music at this one however. Turns out the veggies were the most outstanding dishes of the night!

I agree very much with your review Paula ....... as a straight forward, quite amusing thriller it was fine - it was just strange to find it on the Booker list.

Thanks, Kaceey.! There are two police officers in the book that have such different personalities that added to the enjoyment of the book as their characters developed more as the book went on.

Thank you, Richard. It was amusing. I chuckled a few times when the police officers didn’t want to report what they knew or had done during the investigation!

I agree with your honest review, Paula. I was so excited to read this author that I downloaded 3 of her novels. This one was just okay for me.

Paula, Sometimes I wonder how certain books get nominated. I've had this in my tbr for a long while but I'm in no hurry no read it. Thanks for an honest and fair review!

You are welcome, Jan. It is such a hit or miss on nominated books. Usually the Booker is a pretty good indicator for decent books, but not always!
