#GIRLBOSS follows Sophia Amoruso’s journey through developing a kick-ass, successful business and life. She’s inspiring and definitely offers a lot of sound advice for aspiring “girlbosses. Considering that this was written in 2014 I would love to read a more updated version. I’m sure a lot has changed for Sophia and her company in the last four years.

AC I never finished this one, but I totally agree about an update. She's had a Netflix show come and go and has expanded GirlBoss to a conference!

Yes! Actually after reading this I started to obsessively google and learned that Nasty Gal went bankrupt in 2016 and Sophia went through a really difficult divorce after being married for a year... hard stuff. I definitely think there's another book in her though!

AC Oh yeah, I forgot about those other two points. Very true. But, I definitely think she is ready to give some great life advice in whatever venue she decides to do.

Beth Heltebridle Sorry to be the feminist killjoy, but after this came out she also got called out for cultivating an extremely toxic work environment that screwed over female employees :(

Yeah, that's a good point. And that was an incredibly major problem in her career. I would be hopeful that she learned from that experience and would talk about that particular situation and her part in it and how she is doing better if she were to write something else. I can't remember if she has commented on it more recently.

YES I just read that a lot of the reason the company went bankrupt was because they were being SUED for firing employees right before they went onto maternity leave. :O
