Mayim de Vries did it break your heart?

Karishma Mayim wrote: "did it break your heart?"

Into tiny tiny pieces (view spoiler) but then Red came along and helped!

Karishma And of course, because of the pain Finbar went through (view spoiler)

Mayim de Vries He is, and he was also one of my favourites. His path is not an easy one.

I am happy you liked this one. I was also awed! Sadly, I have to say that the rest of the books lacks the quality of this one.

Karishma Your words give me hope - I will read ahead to find out about Finbar.

Have you read her Blackthorn and Grim series?

Mayim de Vries Yup, I did binge Marillier this year. I think I even read one book too many because, in the end, I was bored slash irritated. But Blackthorn is a great protagonist built on complex paradoxes and I loved this about her.

Karishma I loved Blackthorn too.

Ok thanks for the warning, I was planning to do just that and go on a Marillier binge next year.

I'm reading Heart's Blood on the 10th though, have you read it?

Btw if you like fairy tale retellings (I think) have you read any Gail Carson Levine?

Mayim de Vries Doesn't ring a bell actually. Let me check.

OK, I have Heart's Blood on my TBR but I am not touching Mariller any time soon. I fear I would be unjustly harsh in my rating. I have Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine on my TBR but I don't think I will get around to reading it any time soon.

Karishma Yes, better to keep some gap and then read it.

Mayim de Vries It is more about the monstrous size of my TBR and the fact that my body stubbornly insists on having 8 hours of sleep each night. :D

Karishma Why, why do we have to sleep!
