Guys, this was so much better than the movie. I know it's not fair to compare, but because the film version of Order of the Phoenix isn't one of my favorites, coupled with the fact that this is the longest novel in the series, I was really nervous to get to this one. Obviously I was a muggle fool who deserves to be chased around by Peeves for a full 24 hours, because this was such a vital installment that really breathed a mature life into the series. The ending of Goblet of Fire is quite dark, but I felt book #5 is where the series really gets down to business and loses the childlike innocence that it clasped tightly for some long. What a brilliant, hauntingly beautiful way to write a series that grows as the reader does. Only two more to go, which makes me quite sad, but also excited to find out how they compare to the rest!

I will say, get ready for teenage boy angst and lots of descriptions. This is my least favourite one, but I think I just didn't connect with Harry as much, I didn't really get what he was going through. The second half is waay better than the first half. :)

I remember feeling exactly the same way from 'Goblet of Fire' onward. I mean, Azkaban isn't exactly sunshine and giggles, but it seemed like things became significantly more real and darker from the 4th book.

ahhh my 2nd fave in the series....half blood is the best in my opinion!!
I think this is my least favorite in that Umbridge is the WORST person to ever be created on paper. Also Harry's angst. But it sets up nicely for HBP!

Yes Umbridge is the absolute worst!!! But I'm really enjoying this one so far.

I'm starting on 1 in Kindle unlimited and have never read the series before but I've seen all the movies. I know, as a reader, that the books always better than the movie. I am looking forward to reading the series.

I’ll never watch these movies. I’ve watched some parts on YouTube, which I enjoy doing, but I can’t see how the movie can stand up to my imagination. I usually watch book movies but there’s no way with HP
