A murder mystery with a suspenseful twist. We open at a gory murder scene, where they detectives are going over the clues. We are introduced to the main players.
Levi, a tough, prickly Detective, trained in Krav Maga, who has a rich boyfriend,

recently had to shoot a guy in the line of duty, and it's affecting him. He's on edge at home as he and Stanton disagree on many topics, and he has conflicts at work.
Dominic, a recovering gambler, is a giant bear of a man,

a Bail Enforcer, with a service dog called Rebel. She's a marvelous German Shepard/Rottweiler mix.

Levi and Dominic on the third crime scene with the 7 of Spades mark. The investigation is a complicated trail, with the drug used, the connections, and the fact that the victims are criminals themselves.

Our author gives us glimpses of homelife, family, and co-workers from our men. The killer calls Levi and the plot thickens. Levi's personal life is deteriorating, and he's not helping.
It's a smooth flowing mystery that moves swiftly, and it's full of odd characters.
This is the first in the series, so be ready for a cliffhanger.
ENJOY !
