This book is a love story. 400 pages of love story, 50 pages of danger, then 50 more pages of love story. I liked it--it was cute and sweet (even though I do hold a grudge against lovers). I shall keep reading the series...

The Genesis verse: eating of the tree of knowledge refers to drinking blood? Is that why there's an apple on the cover?

Jini Can I borrow this at some point? I feel like it's "The DaVinci Code" and I need to read it simply to see what all the fuss is about.

Amanda Of course you can, Friend!

Let's see, I just started it, my mom wants it after me. So if I take it to her at Thanksgiving, I can probably bring it back by Christmas or New Years (IF she reads it). Or do you want it first? Either way works for me! Because I could give it to you at Thanksgiving and take it to her at Christmas. Are you looking for something to read these days? Am I still talking???

Jini I certainly have no shortage of reading material at the moment, so whenever it makes it my way is fine. And yes, you're still talking. :-)

Tracy "bitch. shut up."

pretty much sums up my internal dialogue while reading it. and yet, i too shall eventually read them all, because i. just. can't. resist.

Amanda Tracy, why do we do that to ourselves??? I'm seriously contemplating starting on the second one soon, but why? I probably have 50 unread books on my shelf at home, so why? Why?

Oh, sigh. I'm glad I'm not alone. Ha!

Tracy i hear they get it on at some point. i kind of want to see how meyer handles that...

although really, i'm probably just a masochist.

Amanda Oh, I'm not surprised. If Superman and Lois Lane could do it (I'm thinking Mallrats here), then surely Edward and Bella could! Good grief, do you think it's in the fourth book, though? Am I really going to have to read them ALL??????

Eh, whatever, they say sex is worth waiting for. (HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Riiiiiight...) You think it'll be all romantic and stuff?

Jini Why wouldn't it be? Every "romance" novel I've ever read has the girl/woman's first time as the best, most wonderful experience in the world.

Oh, wait. This is fiction we're talking about here.

Sheila I have 100 pages of this book. Its dragging for me and Im not very happy with it. Every one of my friends rated it 5 stars. I just don't see it. Unless something big happens at the end which I doubt since there's 3 more books in this series.

Amanda Nah, nothing big. But there some adventure finally! Ok, it's what, a 500 page book? Ok, so it's 400 pages of teen angst love story, followed by 50 pages of adventure, and then 50 more pages of love story. I highly recommend skimming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jasmine If I could toss my input in here... I found Bella to be kind of annoying and said the same thing you did Tracy (message 4)...and wanted to skim through it too Sheila (message 9 & 10)..BUT my stupid sister..who knows me oh so well...recommended reading Midnight Sun on Meyer's website. Its basically Twilight again but in Edward's point of view..WHICH IS SO MUCH BETTER!

It makes Twilight better when you know all of this other stuff from Edward's perspective. Plus he's so much more interesting.

Meyer only did 12 chapters of Midnight Sun and once you're done with them you don't want to go back to Bella's narrative. I found myself trying to anticipate what Edward would say and do and think in the rest of the book had Meyer finished it.

What can I say? I tried to fight it, but I too got sucked in.

Amanda Jasmine, you're so articulate! I'm jealous!!!

Jasmine haha. i wish.

it comes from years of living in the ghetto with parents that wouldn't let me talk like the other kids.

only now do i appreciate being able to speak proper english...back in 6th grade when i was trying to shoot the sh*t with the cool kids...not so much.
