This was very painful to finish. The book tries to cover major world conflict zones in just 280 pages, resulting in rather shallow descriptions, none of the problems are covered in detail. If you read newspapers or watch news on a regular basis, then I don't recommend buying this book, it's a waste of money. However in case you would like a quick and brief overview of the current global political situation, this is the thing to read. And that's basically my second my reprimand - this book will become outdated very quickly.

Arno In the information age every book becomes outdated. Don't buy books then.

message 2: by Sacha (new) - added it

Sacha Blu Well, books about current events and international policies sure, and probably alot on nonfiction. But people are still picking up some very old verse and lit, from Euripides to Jane Austen, so that's something.
