I remember watching the movie and thinking after wards that this is the most loving story I had ever seen. Now after having read the book I find myself thinking exactly the same thing. I was amazed at how among all the devastation and sadness, there is the underlying feeling of "love" which carries the story forward. I have never seen this kind of hardship in my life personally, but there is so much of this story that anyone can relate to. I was touched by the relationships and saw so much of my father in Baba that it shook me. I loved that the end of the stories reminds us there are no fast answers or easy solutions ... If you are a reader (and even if you are not), if there is one book you should not miss out on it's this book ... It made me laugh/cry/despair and hope, but under it all I felt the warmth of love
