THE BORDER is the last book in the POWER OF THE DOG trilogy. All I can say is WOW.

It was everything I hoped for and more. Brutal criminals, sometimes even more brutal law enforcement, international drug wars, politics, and the absolutely fabulous Ray Porter relating it all in that powerful voice of his.

At this point I feel like Don Winslow and Ray Porter are a part of my life. I've spent dozens of hours with them both and to be honest? I'm going to miss them.

Does Art Keller finally get somewhere in the drug war he's fought his entire life? Will he get to settle down and live a quiet life with Marisol? What about Eddie Ruiz? Callen and Nora? Hell, will any of them even survive? I recommend you read this ASAP so you can find out!

Winslow delivered the goods here and Ray Porter performed the hell out of it.

My highest recommendation!

debra Is this hard to follow in audio format?

Char Not at all, I've listened to the entire trilogy onaudio. You should start with the first book though, which is The Power of the Dog

Thanks, Char. I've listened to the first two and totally enjoyed them both. I guess my concern was that so much time has passed between #2 and this one that I wouldn't remember all the characters, but no prob. Just hearing Ray Porter's voice brought so much back.

Yessss! Winslow fills out the background a little bit when things come up, so I think you'd be fine jumping back in, even if it's been a while. I hope you enjoy it if you do!

Chris Berko Glad you liked this. Can't wait to read your thoughts on it.

Char I loved it!

My short review is up. It was hard to find the right words.

Great review my friend!

Char Thanks!

The trilogy will be coming to television in the near future. I can't wait! (I just hope they don't mess it up.)

Chris Berko The goods were definitely delivered! I had no idea it was being developed as a show, and with all the ground covered in the trilogy as a whole it would have to be about 500 episodes long to do it any justice.

Yeah, it would need to be pretty long. I'm looking forward to seeing them attempt it, though.

Richard Gerlach I'm loving this book so far!

James Thane I'm reading this one now, Char. Really enjoying it.

Alisa I did the entire trilogy on audio too. I agree the narration was fantastic, I think it really added to the emotional impact.

Char Wasn’t it awesome? I’m not ashamed to say I shed a few tears either.

Kurt Great review! Probably the greatest trilogy I have ever read. I also listened to the second one on audio and really enjoyed the narrator
.

Char Thanks! And yeah, these books were brutally good.

Ajagu J Great series just finished the entire trilogy in 2 weeks via audible. Loved every minute of it. Now I’m sad to move on

Lauren Strong Where did you get the audio?? I can’t find it anywhere in Australia

From Audible!

I have to agree. Ray Porter and Don Winslow were a part of my life for dozens of hours. I felt a void in my life when I finished the trilogy.

Faye Hansen Listening to this book. Disgusted with sellers of audio books that there is no rating to save a listener from squalid depravity and filth. Considering the number of 5 star ratings on this book makes it much easier to understand why Americans elected a trashy president like Donald Trump.

Char I don't understand why you're commenting on my review? If you don't like the book, don't read it or use your own space to espouse your political views.

For the record, I loathe Trump.

Lastly, this book tells a fictional story, but all three books in this trilogy are based on fact, which it's very easy to verify by reading virtually anything at all about the start of the drug war.

Have a nice day!
