I wanted something light and fun to break out of my book slump, but this just didn't do it for me. I'm kind of shocked that this is published by a large publishing house and has high ratings. I should have read Anne's review before picking this up, she nailed the issues.....

I seem to be in the minority, so it's possible you might like it ;)

I'd love some recs, I like having books lined up for every possible book mood. Thx!

◬౷Ჹ❍◬ Yeah, but I also saw Anne's review for this book and it was pretty scathing, soooo...))
Okay, recs! I took a peek at your want-to-read shelf, these are the titles I would absolutely recommend based on that:
- I've been obsessed with The Folk Of Air books by Holly Black for the past year. The Cruel Prince and The Wicked King are out now. Also, loved her standalone The Coldest Girl in Coldtown (vampires).
- The Hating Game by Sally Thorne! Hands down, my fav rom-com. It's sexy, sweet, funny and really well written. Her second book just came out, too!
- Nevernight by Jay Kristoff. The audiobook for this is fantastic. Some people are saying the writing is too dense and they can't get past some of the narrative choices, but I had zero issues because the narration was just incredible. It isn't a light read, by any means, but there's this twisted humour to it, which I adored. The second book is just as awesome!
- Leigh Bardugo is great. I gotta say though, I prefer the Six Of Crows duology to the Grisha trilogy. BUT. For the full experience, you might want to go ahead and read the trilogy anyway. I enjoyed it overall.
- Shoot The Messenger by Pippa Dacosta. It's really cool)) Fits the "light and fun" mood, imo.

I'm gonna mention two authors, who I didn't find on your lists:
Penelope Douglas and Natalia Jaster. Check them out :)
And here's to the end of your book slump!
Happy reading)

Wow! Thank you so much for being so thorough!!! You've gotten me excited about these books again 😃 I really want to read Six of Crows, but I kind of got stuck after Grisha #1, but I'm motivated again :) I'm also keen to try Jay Kristoff, I started Nevernight but was surprised at how dense it was and put it down for later. Now I know what I'm in for, it's the first on my fantasy list.

I haven't read much New Adult, but once in a while ago do enjoy something flirty and/or angsty, so on to the TBR they go.

Thanks again!!! 🤗

◬౷Ჹ❍◬ Yay! Enjoy! :)
