I don't consider myself a book reviewer. No. These are not reviews. I write these as little notes to remind me of the books I read. Giving a star doesn't cut it for me. I would like to know years later what I had thought of a particular book, the words that had moved me, and the voices that had shaped me then.
I don't need to write a little note for 'Aparajito'. This book I will remember for the rest of my life along with 'Anna Karenina.' I cried at the end for Apu because you can't help but fall in love with him. I was awed at Bibhutibhushan's marvelous writing vision. Just simply one of the best books I have ever read in my life.
