did not like it

I read a hard back library book as usual for me. I haven't forgiven her yet for saying a Monarch is black and yellow when it is black and orange. Her writing and story are unbelievable. There is an amazing twist but don't trust what she writes about wildlife. Even the title is WRONG as Crawdads do not sing as many have pointed out. Someone said they caught them when they were growing up and so did I.

❤M Gentilcore I'm on the wait list for this book at my library. Hopefully, the author will do better research about wildlife in her future books.

I hope so! Its still a good book but she is supposed to be a wildlife biologist. Watch for the thing with the butterfly! You won't believe it. Its hard to put down and has a great twist!

Lorrie caught the butterfly thing too!

Dustin the wind Crazy little brown owl I looked up Monarch Butterflies and they are ORANGE, not yellow. I wonder why the author portrayed the butterfly this way? The author and Kya should both know that a Monarch butterfly isn't yellow. They've both written non-fiction books on nature. Weird.

ClaraBelle Does it have any inappropriate content?

Yes, this bothered me intensely so that then I did not trust anything else she wrote. I have 5 Monarch caterpillars on my milkweed right now. Most every year I get a few which is unusual at this altitude. I tried to tag them but failed on that. I guess some people are just color blind.

It depends on what you mean by inappropriate content. There is rape."

That’s what I would define as such.

☆~ܳٳܳ The whole story is pretty much based around that.

Darla Your nature observations are very astute. I think I would rate it a star lower if I had read your review before I added mine. . .🦋

☆~ܳٳܳ Thanks Darla! I got so hopping mad about the butterfly colors that I could not get over it. I was trusting everything else she wrote until that point. You can always change your rating. I often change mine. Sometimes I think about a book for weeks and then change my mind about the number of stars it deserves. Just click on the stars.
