I watched the movie/video which was also very good. Even more so after visiting the Dom in Cologne and getting some appreciation for what must have been involved.

Amazing choice Chelsea. Truth be told, it took me over six months to finish this monster but it was totally worth it. The follow-up novel is equally awesome. Still have to read the third installment.

Thanks Daniel! I've been reading this one for quite awhile too, but I'm adoring it. I feel like it has to be absorbed slowly, and I've been taking a section of time each evening to "read an episode".

I loved this, too, Chelsea! I led a face-to-face book club years ago and it was selected to read over two months. I wasn’t happy about it but will be forever grateful to them because I thought the book extraordinary. And, I’d read Follett’s mystery books and didn’t think he could pull this off. Silly me.

Loved this first installment as well, but get ready, the 2nd book in the series is even better! At least it was for me...

"Pillars of the Earth" is a wonderful book and is my second favourite novel ever! First favourite is James Clavell's "Shogun".
