Stephen King is an awesome writer. That said, I cannot imagine the mind he lives in. I stopped reading him for a long time because Cujo and Pet Sematary were just too real. I've had this book on my shelves for about 12 years or more, and since I'm pledged to read more this year, I thought it was time to give Stephen another try.
Same experience except the ending was so disappointing that I cannot get over it. I mean, I can take the repetition of the grisly stuff, all right, and I can take the killing of innocents, but to just give up on the ending and leave it hanging. Okay, so there could be a sequel, there's enough material to do it, but none has emerged (13 years later).
If you are in to zombies, you will like this book. If you like making up your own endings, this will do it for you. For me, I'll regretfully stay away from King for a while and read some puppy stories.
