Lauren I felt this to my core while reading it, hard agree. Anger issues is not what most people would call "sexy," and certainly doesn't constitute as a redeeming quality worth sticking around to "fix" 🙄

Ellie "Marriage is great! My wife takes care of everything, including my kids, while I fuck off doing my own thing, until I wanna have relations. Wait, you don't agree? I don't get it."

So annoying. So bad. So frustrating. Fuck off indeed.

Leena Aluru I so agree with you. My review was so much milder- I'm regretting it.

Mudibu Rita Nsumbu Okay yeah I’m so glad I’m not the only one who didn’t think Phillip was a stand up guy. Dude needs therapy and anger management like real bad. Not the match I would have wanted for Eloise or anyone really

Alia McHugh A fuckin men

Jenny Ullrich that was my thought during reading. he is just an idiot.

megan Your review matches my thoughts exactly!

When I read comments on twitter about how great a match Eloise and Phillip make I was really looking forward to reading the book - setting aside my expectations of the second season of Bridgerton the tv show and also setting aside my hopes of Eloise and Theo finding a way to eachother. But after reading this book I really hope that the romance between Phillip and Eloise will not be part of the show or that at least drastic changes will be made since I find him a rather unpleasant fellow and unsuitable for such a free spirited woman such as Eloise.

Larissa Roussille Read this review before reading the book and thought "can't be that bad"... but this review is spot on.

Gabrielle Sums up my feelings perfectly, thank you

Sarah My thoughts exactly. Did Eloise dirty on this book.

firebreathingbq I came to read spoiler free reviews, and I started laughing when I yours

Lilo I couldn't have written a better review myself.

Sofia ✨ so relatable

Crystal Walsh I actually don’t understand the hate of Philip. He
Comes from a highly abusive childhood where he actually has scars on his back from being horse whipped. Not exactly sure how everyone expects him to act lol where is the hate on that damn nurse who was beating his children with a book? I was expecting there to be a more in depth love story with Eloise that I will agree upon instead of runs away to his home without telling anyone and is married 2 weeks later. I’m hoping when they do the show there will be more back and forth and more of her feisty spirit in the show.

Jayleen Philip must have invented the red flag

message 24: by Rhea (new) - rated it 2 stars

Rhea Absolutely agreed. Such an infuriating person. Didn't understand how Eloise could fall for him. Didn't understand how anyone could. And the whole "women are like this and that" labeling drove me absolutely crazy.

Jus Just about to read the book. Love your review!

Cindy Williams This is the best review! Lol

message 27: by arina (new) - rated it 1 star

arina @Crystal (spoiler - quote) ‘He’d married Eloise in part, well, more than in part, almost in whole, in truth, because he’d wanted her to take charge, to take all the annoying little tasks in his life, to free him up for the things that really mattered. The fact that he was growing to care for her, had been an unexpected bonus sums it up tbh

ĐܰᲹ Stanimirović Thank you for this awesome review. Could not have said it better
