I’m not sure I understand the idea completely, but I love the sound of the words.

It was Elliot’s style that I perceived that put me off this book for decades. It is the way she writes that I enjoy most today.

This book sat in my house for twenty-some years. Every four or five years I’d pull it down and try and get started. Two pages in I’d quite. I didn’t like her syntax. Now I’m done. The writing was the best part. It completely deserves it reputation.

You’re too kind. I enjoyed it cover to cover. I was stunned to discover I worked 6 months on this. Don’t tell anyone else, but I even, quite unexpectedly, got a little misty reading the finale chapter. Good book. Fun read. 🙃

Nice to hear from you. I had this book in the house for 25 years. Every few years I’d get it down and try and get started. I found the style awkward and not to my taste: back on the shelf. Then one day a goodreads friend dared me to try again. Six months later I wrote my review: Good book. Fun to read. What did I like best about it? I liked the writing!

Nice to meet you. Turned out to be much better than I thought it would be. Good book. Fun read.

Nice to hear from you. I had a strong prejudice against this book for a long time. Turned out to be completely unfounded. There’s a lesson some where.

Thank you, Mark! The (very) long list of your posts shows anyway how much you've enjoyed it. OK, your secret is safe. But it is (very) good that you felt like that ;))

Good to hear from you. I had a prejudice against this book for decades. When I finally sat down and read it it was wonderful. Good book. Fun read.
Good to hear from you.
