Yes, there were some gruesome moments, but the shiny appeal that this book brought was the portrayal of the resilience and underestimated power of the "common" housewife.

I didn’t expect the most horrific character to be the patriarchy! I had to rest a day halfway through because it was rough. Still very fun book
