4.5 stars! Oh my gosh! This book... this book was such a joy to read. I heard about it back in November and I had been waiting since then to read it. It was so worth the wait.
So, what's this book about?
Naomi Westfield has the perfect fiancé: Nicholas Rose holds doors open for her, remembers her restaurant orders, and comes from the kind of upstanding society family any bride would love to be a part of. They never fight. They're preparing for their lavish wedding that's three months away. And she is miserably and utterly sick of him.
Naomi wants out, but there's a catch: whoever ends the engagement will have to foot the nonrefundable wedding bill. When Naomi discovers that Nicholas, too, has been feigning contentment, the two of them go head-to-head in a battle of pranks, sabotage, and all-out emotional warfare.
But with the countdown looming to the wedding that may or may not come to pass, Naomi finds her resolve slipping. Because now that they have nothing to lose, they're finally being themselves--and having fun with the last person they expect: each other.
I've read many enemies-to-lovers romance novels but this one was on a whole new level. I have never read a more creative romance book. Two fiances hating each other is truly one of the best ideas I've encountered since The Bromance Book Club.
I also wasn't expecting this book to be as passionate as it was. I'm not referring to sex (although there was a fair amount of steam). There was so much anger and hatred that was counteracted with love and joy, all of which was dialed up to 11 so that I was either laughing or crying throughout the entire book.
I had considered sharing a few of my favorite scenes but then I realized that 99% of the scenes were my favorite and I seriously would run out of room because I wouldn't be able to stop gushing.
Overall, this book was hilarious, emotional, and creative. I seriously cannot recommend it enough.
Bottom Line:
4.5 stars

"You two are assholes!" she calls back. "You deserve each other."
