it was amazing

Mary Higgins Clark’s A Stranger Is Watching is a great book to read and to study if you are a writer. Higgins Clark knows how to build tension, how to bring threads and characters together, and how to keep the reader turning pages. I mean down to the wire! There are no spare words or chapters in A Stranger Is Watching.

Six-year-old Neil Peterson witnesses his mother Nina being murdered. Young Ronald Thompson says he didn’t killed Nina, but he’s going to the electric chair in a few days. Journalist Sharon Martin doesn’t believe in capital punishment. Steve, Nina’s widower, does. Higgins Clark adds a bit of romance to her characters as Steve and Sharon try to understand their relationship. But when a psychopath with unfinished business enters the mix, he sends everybody scrambling to get at the real truth, to save the innocent, and stop the terror. But can they do it with a literal clock counting down to the end?

I’d rather not tell you who’s doing what. Find out for yourself. You’ll enjoy this suspense story!
