5-SHINY SPOOKY STARS! Can we all just take a moment to look at the stunning, powerful cover setting the tone. Welcome to The Sun Down Motel!
Ok ... I think I can blink and breathe again now.
Cigarette smoke, voices, footsteps, lights on and off, doors open and slam shut ... and yet nobody is there. Right? Ummm ...
Simone St. James wrote a deliciously creepy book that kept me reading in to the night and jumping every time I thought I heard a noise around my house. The Sun Down Motel starts off like a rocket and never lets up with each short chapter building the tension. The characters are well presented, the mystery is full of suspense, and the old vintage motel is the perfect setting. On vacations, we use to drive through old country towns and pass motels that had the same look and feel that this one did. But we never stopped and stayed in one of them thankfully! Part of the fear factor is that you know something very bad is about to happen. The author does a great job tying together two very different time frames -- 1982 and 2017, both of which would be interesting even on their own. If you are looking for a good suspense story, especially one containing supernatural elements, then this is a great book to devour ... with the lights on.

It was all about atmosphere that kept building. SSJ did a great job at keeping my senses heightened. I know you will love it!
