The Tower of Nero (The Trials of Apollo, #5)

Too many thoughts. Too many feelings.
The Tower of Nero is my favorite out of the Apollo books by far. I'll admit, the series was off to a rough start. But it was completely worth it with that OUTSTANDING finale.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who's crying.
Apollo developed so much throughout this series, and this book is certainly where we see him at his best. (Not physically, of course. He's still a squeaky teenage boy with acne. No shame, bro.) We also see the reappearance of my cinnamon rolls, Nico and Will, along with the one and only Meg McCaffrey. *sniffles* my precious demigods. *pat pat*
What I liked most about this book was the adventure and humor. In the previous books, it was a little annoying to see Lester cower from battle. But now he's become a hero- dare I say it- just like Percy Jackson. The new monsters, weapons, and threats set the stakes higher than ever, and delivered in more ways than I had expected. And Apollo made all of it terribly hilarious along the way.
I can't believe- no, I refuse to believe that this is the end to the Camp Half-Blood Chronicles. Uncle Rick is going to continue with a new series, right? Right?? Because if I've learned anything from reading his books, it's that I'll never let them go.
I really loved how this series ended. It's so nostalgic and gives so much more to the universe. Apollo had some hard trials all right, but it ultimately changed him for the rest of his to-be-determined life. I really hope we'll see him again in upcoming books. (Because there will be upcoming books, mark my words).
"Apollo will fall, but Apollo will rise again."
