Elon After some thought, this really is a 5 book.
I have read it multiple times, and really enjoy each read.
The characters have depth(most of them), and while it's of epic page numbers, I alway complete the story.
I will say, though I am bias towards Mr. King. While his larger, epic stories swallow my attention like nothing else, a part of me appreciates his shorter, more scary short stories.
I personally would not consider this to be a horror novel. "The Stand" has a scary theme, and may keep you awake at night for no other reason than interest in this world created.
"It" is more of a horror story, waking you from a dream because a clow appears.
While this story is up there in my top 10 Stephen King books, the ending does fall short. The build up is killer! The flow and transitions into each character is model work. A lot of nuance goes into many different characters, and I believe that is why it's physically such a thick book. As I read, I get lost in the story, and the physical size is lost.
That being said, as the story unfolds, stranger and stranger events occur, reminding me of why this author is such a successful, popular, and twisted story teller.

I'm still mulling over in my mind which of of his larger novels are my favorite. Of the close contenders, the one titled "It", and the one titled "Under The Dome" rank pretty high. each for their own special reason.

This is the ultimate story of apocalyptic America. Apocalyptic America With A Twist.
This book is a definite Must read. There are others, but this one could just be paramount to the authors quintessential novels.

I purposely did not write any more of the plot, because I feel one must experience this apocalyptic masterpiece for themselves.
For those of you who read this review thus far, and have already read the book, if I may make a recommendation:
"Survivors" by British author Terry Nation. Another masterful piece of fiction!
Luckily, it has been made into a BBC Television series as well. Not to be missed. Interestingly, written within a few years of each other.
If I get to meet the author, an inquiry of the coincidence would be my first, if only question.
