it was amazing
bookshelves: scifi

I've come to think of this as Robert Sheckley's version of The Illuminatus Trilogy. Confusing, schizophrenic, and bursting with invention and genius.

I need to read some Sheckley - sound great.

Daniel Swensen I hope you do -- it seems like something you would really like. Options was a very challenging read, if only because I spent a lot of time wondering what the hell was going on (much like Illuminatus) -- but by the end, I was overcome by Sheckley's humor and inventiveness. There's a particular passage in which he apes classic space opera that had me in stitches -- I still grin when I think about it, days later.
