So I just know this is going to be the toughest review I've ever written just so you know now because of how MUCH I wanted to like this book because everyone was saying this was going to be the best read of Summer 2020. I was on a waiting list from my library since probably April or May for this book. This should have been an easy read. It had everything I could possibly want in a book, but while I liked the characters here and there and chuckled at a few moments for some reason I just didn't connect with this book. To me, it's like it just shifted in tone too many times that I wasn't sure what I should be feeling. One minute it felt serious, disconnected, and a little depressing. The next minute it would be quirky, upbeat, and romantic. I would never want to discourage anyone from reading anything so if you're considering picking up this book don't let how I felt about this book discourage you this is just my opinion.
