Spoilers :,
I’m tired so I’ll keep this brief.
I thought it held promise at the start. But no. 40% in I skimmed to the end.
Firstly I felt no real connection to the characters.
Secondly, I hate investing in a story, in a couple, for them to not end up together.
Thirdly, the thing that ruined it for was the inaccurate depiction of DID. Alters can never “die. When integrated that’s exactly what happens. The alters integrate to become one. The new alter has the memories of both. And has the personality traits of both. They become a whole new “personality melded of the two previous alters. So Adam would not have just disappeared. And there is no one alter that owns the body. No alter is any less valid than the others in the system.
The whole thing has just left me frustrated and annoyed. Please, if you write a book on a mental disorder, at least portray it correctly!
