These books are not listed as a series because they can stand alone, but this is the third book about Lisbeth and Mattie. You really should read them all. It's so worth it. The books are excellent and you get to know the history of the characters.
Yellow Crocus - Lisbeth is born into privilege and Mattie is her enslaved wet nurse
Mustard Seed - 1868, continues Lisbeth & Mattie's stories
Golden Poppies - 1894, the story continues with Lisbeth & Mattie's children

Kristie, I picked Golden Poppies as my free book for the month from Amazon. I had no idea about the other two books but because of your review I've read Yellow Crocus and Mustard Seed, which are free to read on Kindle Unlimited through Amazon. They were both amazing reads. I'm starting Golden Poppies today! Thank you!!

Kristie, a VERY helpful review. I always like to read related novels in order in order to reap the full story. I have a copy of Yellow Crocus and will start with that. Thanks so much!!

Thank you! I just downloaded GP with my amazon prime first reads. As I looked more into the author I was confused by the other books. I will download the other two read them in order now. This was so helpful.

Just picked up Yellow Crocus at a used bookstore while traveling. Can’t wait to read it! Added Mustard Seed and Golden Poppies to my shelf. They all sound amazing!

I came here as an immigrant and this story was an eye opener for me , I really enjoyed this story.
Thanks for telling people about the other books. My publisher wants them to stand alone so does not label them a series. I call them companion novels since they do stand alone--but are obviously more meaningful if you read the others.
