I wrote a massive review for why this didn’t work for me but goodreads randomly refreshed and I lost it. So in short: beautiful writing. Interesting magic. I didn’t enjoy the cast. I never felt any emotion from the purpose behind the story and found there to be a few scenes that felt out of place. Possible victim of my reading slump. I love all other GGK I’ve read but not this one.

ŷ is terrible.

David Firmage Didn't work for me but love Song for Arbonne and The Fionavar Tapestry that a lot of readers hate.

Coleton The first casualty of One Piece being peak fiction. 😄

Mitch H I am physically desecrating my copy right now. Thank you for the warning 🙏

Pat Smith ŷ is a GGK shill confirmed

Jimmy Lmao

Andrew Highlight+copy is something I recommend if you're ever posting a long review. Lost too many words to ŷ' inability to put up a comment.

Jake Bishop Take that Tigana! That's what you get for hogging the spotlight from the other GGK books.

Cassie Where would you suggest starting with GGK? I haven't read anything of his obviously, but I think not knowing where to start is the problem!

Danny Matson Ah bummer. I love this book.

On Faery Stories I felf exactly the same. DNFed it half-way through when the incest was introduced. A friend of mine spoiled the ending for me and it still didn't make me want to continue on (she told me he doesn't do anything about the incest later on... so why include it?!). I've not been tempted to pick up any other books by this author yet, there are so many other authors I'd rather read right now, but who knows, never say never. 🤷

Jimmy Cassie my personal opinion as someone who has not read all his books would be A Song For Arbonne or Lions of Al Rassan

Jake Bishop From an extremely unbias point of view, some guy named Jake Bishop has a youtube video about this.
