I honestly don’t know where to start. This book was like a 2-star read for me. It’s not like I hated it, it’s just that there wasn’t any plot really. Like 70% in to the book and the push and pull between Kai and Banks is still going on. Damon was mentioned about 4325674325 times, but he didn’t appear (until after 90% of the book was over) or did anything really, except burning down the Sensou.

Oh, and burning of the Sensou reminds me, Kai is devastated when he hears about it,

Cause nothing happens after! He mentions he’s devastated, but then what? Nothing. Nada.

At the start I thought that this book was better than Corrupt cause I didn’t like that everything revolved around rape and non-consensual in that book, but this one wasn’t any better cause, like I said, nothing was happening except for the push and pull between them. I love PD but this entire series was a big fail for me. I honestly would have dnf’ed this book (again) if it wasn’t for the fact that I was buddy reading this book with Mina. Honestly, I have no clue how you re-read this book, because I know, I’m never even gonna go in a 2-mile radius of this book. But seriously, this is for you girl:




Also, thanks for being my therapist for the past few days and putting up with me and my misunderstandings😂😂 I still can’t believe it, my imagination has been running wild lately😅🙈

IMO, the duel timeline wasn’t told nicely, and it took me some time to remember and differentiate between the past and the present.


I also disliked hated Banks and felt that she was overacting and a total know-it-all-bitch which I hated. She said that she didn’t dress up for people but many times in her POV she said that she was jealous of Alex and Rika with all their rich, designer dresses and pretty faces. I think PD tried to create a character who wasn’t stereotypical and had this whole don’t care attitude but she failed to do that, cuz IMO, Banks just came off as petty, jealous and obnoxious. I’m happy that she bitch slapped Rika, cause lets be real, who wouldn’t be? it was fun to see her knocked down a notch but the way Banks initiated the fight, was the last straw for me. She made a comment about Rika “getting it from both ends�� which blew my mind!


Here's how the fighting scene goes:

But lets go to the important parts:


"Are you okay?" Kai asks

Is she okay? Your little princess threw the first punch, asshole.


So what? Was she supposed to kiss you when you said this to her: ?!

“When Damon ties you up again, show him what a scrapper you are. It’ll amuse him.��


But wait…she did didn’t she? She kissed you after you told her about ‘getting it from both the ends�� and what a scrapper you are You know when people say I don’t know whether to punch you or kiss you? Well, these perfect-know-it-all people, have found the solution: do both





Banks was very conflicted and their romance was too insta-lovey for me. Like you met six years ago, and now, six years after, you’re in love? IN LOVE?

*sigh*

Her actions were way different from her words which was very annoying. She says she loves Kai but she makes no move to stop him from signing the contract, and I was just like





I know, this isn’t a review and more of the ramblings of Me2, who btw, isn’t talking to me anymore cause she believes that I killed all of her brain cells. Well, you and me both buddy, I don’t have any brain cells to put to work anymore and write a proper review.

I’m not gonna say much anything about Kai, because it was like he didn’t exist.
Tbh, the title of the book should have been ‘Damon and Banks and their unhealthy relationship�� or ‘Banks and her royal bitchiness�� or ‘how different Kai and Banks are��

Throughout the books Kai and Banks mention how “different�� they are. Banks says she isn’t like most girls and doesn’t need pretty clothes��yada yada ya..and Kai says how he has different tastes and crap what not. BECAUSE GUYS, HE LOVES TO WATCH! TO FUCKING WATCH!



And Michael��.

“I love you guys,�� Michael said, “but are you fucking dense? You’re my friends. She is everything. Maybe someday you’ll know what the fuck I’m talking about.��

This is what I’m talking about! This is the shit Michael was supposed to say in his book and Kai was supposed to say in his! But noooooooo��.

Kai was better in Michael’s book and Michael was better in his. But please, this doesn’t make him good��.

Can we please talk about how he knew Damon and Banks were siblings and didn’t say anything? Or how he kissed Banks six years ago? Yeah, not so good anymore, now is he?


In the end of this book, I only came out to fall in love with Will and to fall more in love with Damon. Can we please take a moment and relive the scene where Will is punching Damon, who just takes it and buries his head in Will’s chest?




Again, I’m sorry for this not being a proper review, but like I said I don’t have any braincells left anymore!

P.S: Don’t call a woman “kid�� when your head is between her legs
