Ugh. Despite the exquisite writing, as succinct in its delivery as it was muse-ful, what the eff was the story? I’m all for musings (Proust 4ever!), but this was like Stoner without a point. And the ending…Nabokov is cracking up! Whatever. Writing is a 5, story/brilliance of insights on the human experience a 2, so there you go.

Teresa I found it too episodic and never got into the flow of it.


Stephen Episodic, yes. Maybe that was it. Like the ‘story� was inspired across flash moments through the years while in different rooms of the house when each moment suddenly sang out, “yes, I should write that piece down, too� So appreciate your ‘read� on things!
