This is an excellent introduction into explaining systemic racism. Even if you recognize your white privilege and supremacy characteristics, this is a reminder that there is still so much hard work to be done.

Some of the real life stories are so repugnant but we need to be reminded of them.

Change is so difficult when so many are threatened.

I wish I could have studied a book like this at that age. My high school education gave the impression that racism was only a problem in the Deep South.
