This was a 100 pages novella which tells the story of what happened 8 years prior to the events in Grip and why things turned out a certain way.
It was a good introduction to the characters and their background.
There’s not much to say because I see this as a necessary part of the story and it’s weird to rate on its own, but like I said, it does a good job at establishing the characters.

I’ve been skipping over these and I have no idea why! It might be the music factor I haven’t read a lot of stories with that as the background/ focus for the MCs

@Precious, I’ve read all 3 books like 5 days ago but I still think of them and can’t bring myself to voice it all in a review. (Soon tho) Honestly now, I absolutely loved the story and yes there is that music/celebrity factor but it’s not like in any other book I’ve ever read - the main focus is racial inequality, police brutality, the hardships of navigating an interracial relationship. It’s one of the best stories I’ve ever read. I’ll be honest in saying that the first book Grip is a bit slow for the first 50% but it was still worth it. And the second book Still OMG, I absolutely loved it. For the past few days I kept re-reading passages. There was so much to love in this duet. The themes it approaches, and the love story..Beautiful And Grip- the hero is probably the greatest male MC I’ve read about so far (not perfect, but close). I totally recommend it!
This is exactly the push I needed! Thank you! With KR I knew it be more than just the surface but I wasn’t ready after the emotional “Hoops� bender I just got out of lol. I adore her male MCs, especially in Hook Shot so I totally believe you.
I bought the Box for this series... I'm dying to start reading!❤️
