This was pretty good! 4 stars!
I got The Thursday Murder Club from the library due to not knowing if this would be good or how I would like Richard Osman's writing.
But it's worth it!
I enjoyed all of the characters in the book, along with the mysteries and twists that occur.
The Thursday Murder Club starts off a bit slow. I wasn't sure if I would catch on to what was going on with the characters or what this group is about.
Then the book finally finds its stride and I enjoyed it until the end!
My advice would be to just stick with it.
The Thursday Murder Club is four septuagenarians who live in a retirement center in England. It's a smaller community and town outside of London.
All that live in Coopers Chase Retirement Village have a good time playing cards, flirting with other widows, doing jigsaw puzzles, and solving murders!
Yep, you read that right.
This group of four, Elizabeth, Ron, Ibrahim and Joyce, meet on Thursdays to try and solve cold case murders.
But one day, something happens entirely different to this little group.
A real life murder happens.
And then another happens.
And low and behold, they are both connected to their retirement village!
They must put their heads together, pull out some real life connections and not give a damn about digging up a dead body.
The Thursday Murder Club had the same vibe as the movie Red if you've seen it and I really enjoyed that.
The group of four had their own personalities, skills and humor along with not caring if they get arrested. You know why? It might be fun!
I also loved the coppers in this series as well. I can see all these personalities in many books to come.
Definitely check this one out if you love mysteries, well fleshed out characters and good writing!

I really love Elizabeth! She makes me think of Helen Mirren in the movie Red! ❤️💕🤣"
