The atmosphere, the setting, the characters. It was - to be frank - amazing. I loved it.

I had so much fun with this book. It did a great job of weaving classical Gothic elements with classic Mexican literary elements, while still managing to have a unique/bizarre concept and interesting characters.

I expected a 3-star gothrom. I read a 4-star horror.
